The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pressed up the price of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually entered into sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is taking benefit of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It’s set up the Middle East’s very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It’s showing rewarding too, already their of McDonald’s.
